Piano playing pays off for St Richard’s Pupils

Two talented pianists from St Richard’s Catholic College have won the opportunity to see musicians perform at the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition. Louis (Year 11) and Alastair (Year 10), both excellent musicians themselves, performed in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre in the run up to the Festival. They braved the cold to play in front of shoppers and fellow musicians on a beautiful grand piano for 20 minutes. Mrs Byrne, Music Teacher, described their playing as “absolutely fantastic”. The boys were each awarded free tickets to the competition and Alastair will also be playing the ‘recital’ section of the Hastings Musical Festival. The boys are both keen to pursue a career in music, with Alastair hoping to attend music college and Louis wishing to explore music teaching. Alastair and Louis are pictured playing below.
