19 May Important Message for Parents/Carers of Pupils who travel by train
I am writing to ask that all parents/carers of pupils who catch the train to school have another conversation with them about safe and responsible travel.
I have had reports of pupils standing up when seats have been available; surging on and off trains, and, at times, being far too loud, which we would all agree is unfair on other pupils and other travellers.
In writing this, I am, of course, aware that many of our pupils continue to behave impeccably. However, a reminder to everyone can only serve to ensure the safety and comfort of our pupils and the members of the public who travel at the same time as them. Those who decide not to behave safely on the trains will receive sanctions in school which could result in the loss of their right to travel in this manner.
